Green Crafts :: Ornaments from Dia-Frames

Lately my son is helping me to declutter my folders by pulling out all the dia frames I stored in there. It was about time to let go of those things. I never had a look at them again ever since I put them in there. While putting them in the waste bag my daughter came across and wondered what we can do with those frames. And I showed her how to make dolls frames, christmas danglies, ornaments, gift tags….SO here’s a little green craft project for you to make with your little ones this weekend. Just in time to fill adventcalendars, decorate your presents or your tree.

Dia Frame Ornaments

1. All you need are Diaframes. Those cheap plastic ones that still linger in your boxes or folders.

2. And you need magazines, catalogs and/or handpainted pictures. Find a nice capture by trying the frame over the picture. Glue the frame to the chosen picture, let dry and cut out (or first cut your picture and glue it then).

3. From a piece of cardboard cut a rectangle in the size of your diaframe (or slightly smaller). Use a ribbon or yarn for a loop. Glue both to the back of your frame.

4. Let dry (best is to dry it pressed under a book) and enjoy your quick and easy green craft danglie.

5. You also can add decorative (or plain) paper for covering the frame before you glue the picture on it. Play with pictures and forms.

in no time you'll have a big pile

What use of those diaframes can you find? Name tags? Place cards? Family gallery? Show me your results!

That is just such a good idea Ramona! I should get some of these, as my Danika is getting big into mix media and messing about with paper stuff. She could have some great fun with these. Thanks for sharing! x
